Water acclimatization

During water familiarization, children get to know the element of water in a playful way and without any pressure to perform. With songs, stories or rituals, these exercises are taught in a child-friendly way. Encourage your child to splash in the bathtub. Slowly pour water playfully over the head and face. When you pour the water through a sieve, it feels like it is raining. Bubbling in the water can be practised with a table tennis ball. The ball floats on the surface of the water and can be moved by blowing. The child should gradually move the mouth further towards and finally into the water. To prevent the child from swallowing the water, you can shout or sing songs together under water. In this way, the child learns that air must be exhaled under water so that no water gets into the mouth. Let your children play with water outside of swimming lessons.
